📖 Introduction to Surah Fatah
Surah Fatah (الفتح) is the 48th chapter of the Qur’an, comprising 29 verses. It is a Medinan surah, revealed in the 6th year after Hijrah (around 628 CE), during or just after the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah between the Muslims of Madinah and the Quraysh of Makkah.
The Surah Fatah’s title, “The Victory,” refers to this treaty—a peaceful conquest—heralded as a manifest triumph (“fath mubīn”).

Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory.

So that God may forgive your past and future sins, complete His favor upon you, guide you to the straight path,

And grant you a mighty triumph.

He it is who sent down Tranquility into the hearts of the believers…

…to admit believing men and women into Gardens beneath which rivers flow…

…and to punish hypocrites and disbelievers…

To God belong the hosts of the heavens and the earth…
